Ship Finance and Shipbuilding
We regularly advise shipyards and buyers on all aspects of shipbuilding contracts, including refund guarantees and other new legal challenges arising from the rapid developments in Korea’s shipbuilding industry. We have a growing ship finance practice and advise on all risks and transactional hurdles relating to the acquisition of vessels. In recent years, we have also acted for shipyards and buyers in relation to arbitrations and other disputes arising under shipbuilding contracts. Major cases in the past few years include disputes arising under several shipbuilding contracts involving Nokbong Shipbuilding, Jinse Shipbuilding, Kwangsung Shipbuilding and others. We also recently advised an Italian buyer in relation to the purchase of a vessel from the former SLS Shipbuilding. |
Shipping Route Disputes
We regularly act for shipping companies in litigation and administrative adjudication in Korea with respect to international shipping routes.
